Answered Prayers

I am so blessed to have had so many of my prayers answered. I have made many new friends, attended my first womens conference and was truly touched by God. I also have joined two different classes at my church. I just wanted to shout praises for all of the good that has been happening in my life.

Friend Watch '08

Well another day in church and I once again chickened out of asking any of the ladies for their phone numbers so that maybe we could hang out during the week. I have been extremely homesick lately mainly because I think I really need some friends. Something is missing in my life right now and I believe it is a social life. All I do is work and go home and on Wednesday nights and Sunday mornings if I am not working I attend church. WOO HOO I am a regular party animal! I am bored out of my mind and wonder how children make friends so easily? I have been saying how I can't seem to make the first move... why doesn't anyone want to come up to me? Do I smell? (if the answer to that is yes please e-mail me privately) I started this bloggie stuff and I have one whopping follower. (by the way Alene I am grateful to ya) Oh well I just felt that I needed to get that off my mind.

I have been asked how I came up with the name "Pole Vaulting Hippo's" as my bloggie name? Well world hang on tight and I will share with you the endlessly strange imagination I have! The Hippo part of the name is simple- I love hippos, I collect hippos, and they are my fave animal! Now the pole vaulting part- imagine a hippo pole vaulting- it's funny and also physically impossible. However they way I think of it, it's a name that makes me smile everytime I log on and also an oxymoron. I love oxymorons! Sometimes I feel like I am one. A pale white girl born and raised in Florida next to some of the most glamorous beaches...but always sunburns and never tans!
I also followed the olympics this year and felt that the pole vault would be the funniest event name I could use. I loved waching swimming on T V but that's what a hippos does anyway! LOL


~FRIEND UPDATE~ I am going to start doing this to let you all know if I have made a friend yet!
I almost thought I did but in the end it doesn't seem so! Well another day at work today and there are 500 employees at my HEB Plus Store so one has got to want to hang out after work with me eventually... I hope!

Hello Bloggin World!

hi this is my very first "blog" so if it stinks oh well! I was told that a blog is just when you type about yourself and what is going on with you and ect... well right now I am being forced to listen to the New York Yankee's baseball game because of my sports fanatic husband who says "we are witnessing history" by watching the last game at this Yankee Stadium. I am saying that this game will be sold on DVD forever from now and I would rather "witness history" watching America's next top model LOL!

A little bit about me I am 23 years old and a mom of one 3 year old boy who is my everything! I live an apartment that I technically hate but at the same time am just grateful to not be living with my husbands parents anymore! I live in Corpus Christi Texas which is like 5 states away from my true home of Florida and was just reminded yesterday at work that I still don't fit in here. I know this is true because I even feel out of place most of the time. the only place I feel comfy is at church but all of my friends there are considerably older than me and have the ability schedule wise to hang out outside of church. I am extremely financially in debt and can't afford to go to "coffee day" once a month or "dinner and desserts" every other Thursday at church so I'm stuck trying to make friends online because at least this is still free for the most part! so if anyone feels like taking a chance and just saying hi because you don't fit in either write back and we'll have something in common!!
